Podcasting – Men’s Club?

Do men comprise the bulk of podcasters and podcast listeners?

Some thought-provoking stats and figures reported at the recent Portable Media Expo & Podcasting Conference 2005 (last week in Ontario, California)... Among them: Leo LaPorte, host of This Week in Tech, said in a keynote address that his audience is 97 percent male.

However, some female podcasters are staking their claim. Gretchen Vogelzang and Paige Heninger have found a large audience – and garnered plenty of press in the process -- for their MommyCast show. For more, check out the Wired News story “Women Warm the Podcast Bench.”
